Portland Cement Specifications. Retrospective and Prospective
THE manufacture of Portland cement has made such advances during the last thirty years that the modern product bears little resemblance to its forerunners. Also our knowledge of the possibilities that lie in its uses and its behaviour under different conditions have been considerably extended. In this development Standard specifications have played an important part. The first British Standard Specification for Portland cement was published in 1904, and the last in 1931, with five revisions in between these dates.
