Mr. R. H. SQUIRE, M.I.Struct.E., proposed a hearty vote of thanks to Mr. Andrews for a very interesting paper, which was somewhat off the beaten track. He imagined that as a result of the paper many of the members would find themselves carrying out experiments in the months to come, and that next year quite a number of papers dealing with them would be offered to the Institution. Undoubtedly in many fields inexpensive research work could be undertaken, with profit to the individuals carrying out the experiments as well as to the wider circle of the members of the Institution. He personally had carried out a certain amount of research, which had not cost him very much, and he had learned a lot from it.
