Examples of Modern Buildings With Particular Reference to the Application of Reinforced Concrete

ALTHOUGH this paper is intended to deal principally with reinforced concrete as applied to the buildings described, other structural or engineering problems that arose and for which the author was responsible as consulting engineer, are mentioned where they are considered as being of probable interest. Four different types have been chosen, viz.: (1) A building of the heavy warehouse type; (2) A hospital building of light construction: (3) Buildings and silos in connection with an industrial plant; (4) A shop and office building.
