Influence Line Computations for Structures with Members of Varying Flexural. Rigidity Using the Electronic Digital Computer

The analysis of a structure carrying prescribed loading and subjected to given support conditions consists in finding a set of forces or displacements satisfying the basic requirements of equilibrium and continuity. In simple structures it is generally possible to satisfy these conditions simultaneously whereas in more difficult cases the principle of superposition may be used after satisfying the conditions separately.
