Stresses in Column Reinforcement
The paper describes tests to determine the strains throughout the length of reinforcement in a three-storey concrete column subject to bending at each storey. Other tests are described in which stresses in lap joints and in binders, both plain and helical, were determined. As a result of these tests it is suggested that worthwhile economies in binders and lapped bars are a possibility.
