A Generalized Distribution Method for use with Electronic Computers

An extended moment and force distribution method is presented for the analysis of plane frames by electronic computers. The method is developed to give the solution for orthogonal frameworks of arbitrary shape with respect to the effect of axial deformations, settlements and temperature changes. The results of the analysis show the moments and shear and axial forces in the members, as well as the displacements and rotation of the joints. Otokar JelĂ­nek
