Numerical Buckling Analysis of Arches and Rings

A numerical method due to Newmark, extended to plane curved members, has immediate practical application in the buckling analysis of arches and rings of arbitrary shape, cross-section variation and load variation. Examples show that the method is capable of the accurate practical solution of many problems which defy solution by advanced mathematical methods. N.C. Lind
