Computer Analysis of Bridges having Varying Section Properties

The paper describes the development of computer programs for an accurate analysis of grillages and plain frames consisting of members having varying section properties. The accuracy of the grillage program has been tested on a perspex model bridge deck and the results indicated good accuracy of the method for the analysis of plated and fully tortionally stiff structures.
