The Reconstruction of Parc des Princes Stadium

This new sports stadium providing covered accommodation for 50000 spectators is described in the paper. The plan shape of the roof resulted in variations in both height of the uprights and length of the supporting prestressed concrete cantilever frames which were all of precast hollow box segmental consfruction with glued joints. Methods of minimizing variations in deflexion at the cantilever ends due to Prestressing and long term creep and of adjustment of these during consfruction are described. With the Boulevard PBriphBrique running in funnel beneath part of the stadium the foundation problems as they affected the superstructure are also given. P. Fauveau and J. Schmitt
