Ultimate Load Behaviour of Mangla Dam Baffle Blocks: Analysis and Model Tests

The paper presents the results of a preliminary ultimate load analysis on the baffle blocks of the Mangla Dam spillway, together with a description of the ensuing model tests. The models were manufactured from several types of reinforced plaster. The results obtained showed that the predicted failure mode did, in fact, occur. B.W. Preece, M. Kwiecinski and O.C.
