Some notes on Modern Steel-Frame Construction. Discussion on Mr. Cocking's Paper

The CHAIRMAS, MR. EWART S. ANDREWS (Hon. Secretary), moved a very hearty vote of thanks to Mr. Cocking for his paper, and recalled incidentally that Mr. Cocking was one of the students who had attended a course of lectures which he (the Chairman) had delivered 26 years ago. In recent years Mr. Cocking had presented to the Institution one of the best papers ever presented to it, and had now presented a second one, which was full of contentious matter-full of those things which it was good for structura1 engineers to discuss among themselves.
