Punching resistances of rc slabs supported by large and/or elongated columns

Four punching tests were made on slabs loaded through elongated and/or large columns. The results and others from the literature show that current code recommendations can be unsatisfactory in such cases, and an empirical modification of BS 8110 is proposed to improve its predictions.
