New Affiliate scheme offered by The Institution of Structural Engineers
The Institution continues to transform its accessibility and encourage inclusiveness to the world of professional structural engineering.
The relaunched and updated Affiliate Membership scheme is ideal for those who wish to have a closer association with the Institution but whose background precludes them from formal professional membership. The scheme aims to broaden the Institution’s reach, welcoming engagement from those with a professional interest in the built environment and structural engineering - such as clients, architects, surveyors, teachers and other professionals.
The benefits package offered will include a digital copy of the Institution’s flagship publication, The Structural Engineer and discounts on Institution events, technical publications and room hire at its London headquarters.
Affiliate Membership will not confer privileges relating to voting rights or the ability to stand for elected positions within the Institution, nor will it carry any post-nominal title. A ‘Group’ Affiliate Membership package will also be made available.
Darren Byrne, Director of Membership and Education at The Institution of Structural Engineers, said:
“Our Affiliate scheme is another method by which we can transform accessibility to structural engineering and promote collaboration by encouraging new links with our membership of world class design professionals.
“It’s also a way for engineers with other recognised national qualifications to access our unique content and services without applying for a further professional qualification.”
