2017 Exam Update

52% of 2017 candidates passed the Chartered Membership exam at their first attempt.

Congratulations to everyone who passed the Institution’s Chartered Examination this year. It is one of the most rigorous assessments of technical competency that exists, and to have passed, gaining the MIStructE post nominal, is a sign of your outstanding excellence as an engineering professional.

331 candidates took the Chartered Membership exam in January and 446 candidates in July, with a pass rate of 28% and 33% respectively. Overall, 52% of the 2017 candidates passed the exam at their first attempt. 7 candidates sat the Associate Membership exam in July, with 6 passing.

Applications have been sent to candidates for the next Chartered Membership examination which will take place on Thursday 4 January 2018. The closing date for entries is Friday 24 November 2017. Any enquiries about the exam entry forms should be addressed to exams@istructe.org.
