Four MSc Research Grants Awarded

Four grants of £800 each have been awarded under the 2016/17 scheme.

The MSc Research Grants Scheme sponsors postgraduate research projects carried out as part of a full or part-time MSc degree programme. This Scheme is supported by the Institution’s Research Fund to encourage young researchers.

This year's grants were awarded to:

Dr Mohammad Adil,  University of Engineering and Technology, Pakistan
Reuse of waste polyethylene coated recycled coarse aggregate with improved strength and durability in concrete

Dr Chris Burgoyne, University of Cambridge
Investigating the stiffness of trabecular bone

Dr Nikolaos Nikitas and Dr Mateusz Bocian, University of Leeds and University of Leicester
Numerically simulated against real observed crowd loads; assessing the efficacy of crowd modelling tools for structural design

Dr Mithila Achintha, University of Southampton    
Novel approach for strengthening glass joints against eccentric loads and dimensional tolerances
