President’s Visit to Thames Valley Regional Group – 2017

​The President, Ian Firth and his wife, Rachel visited the Regional Group at the technical meeting on 7 June.

Alan Crossman (Immediate Past President), Daljit Matharu (Chairman), Ian Firth (President) and Faith Wainwright (Senior Vice President).

This turned out to be a rare occasion for a Regional Group as three consective Presidents attended – Alan Crossman, Immediate Past President and Faith Wainwright, Senior Vice President.

The evening saw the President outline his objectives during his year of office, as well as present a Service Award to Robin Atkinson, and a certificate of Fellowship to Regional Group Chairman, Daljit Matharu.

The evening also included talks from David Ward-Gittos on modularisation of piperacks, Robin Atkinson on his work accelerating the opening of the Marlow Bridge, Mike Webster on the role of the structural engineer as expert witness and Daljit Matharu on the benefits of working in the 3D environment. Following the meeting a scrumptious meal was enjoyed by all.
