Faster, more flexible routes to Chartered and Associate-Membership
Structural engineers now have more control over their routes to Professional Membership of the Institution.
Any candidate may now sit the relevant examination before or after the Professional Review Interview - providing more flexibility.
The changes do not affect the standard or rigour of the Institution’s Professional Review procedure – candidates will still need to pass both interview and examination to qualify for membership. The established timetable of PRIs and examinations also remains unaffected.
Darren Byrne, Deputy Chief Executive of the Institution, said:
“This is one of a series of changes the Institution has rolled out over the past few years to make its routes to membership more accessible; to give candidates a more flexible exam timetable; and to streamline the application process for all.”
If you have any questions about routes to membership contact the Institution’s Membership Department.
