Published: 11/05/2018

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) comes into force on 25 May 2018.

Residents of the European Union will be aware that the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) comes into force on 25 May 2018. Much of the Regulation builds on the requirements of the Data Protection Act 1998.

The Institution is committed to ensuring that the personal data it holds about its members and others is protected by appropriate security measures and only processed lawfully. In the run up to the implementation of the new Regulation the Institution has been reviewing its policies and procedures and updating them where necessary to comply with the new requirements.

Members and other stakeholders are not required to do anything but will be able to review the Institution’s updated privacy policy on istructe.org from 25 May 2018.
