This bridge serves as an important link in Calgary's elevated network of pedestrian pathways. The bridge consists of a total of five spans with a total length of 82.6m.

Judge's comment:

This enclosed bridge link in a busy urban area marries architecture and engineering in all aspects of its design, from the exposed structural detailing to its integrated cladding and structure.

The suspended lenticular truss comprises pre-tensioned cables working together with a compression arch.

The truss is the feature visual form of the bridge, both from the pedestrian experience as well as the view of the bridge, which may otherwise be seen as a simple enclosed link.

The bridge required careful design to account for sensitivity to various loading criteria, fabrication to high architectural finish, and cladding attached directly to the structure.
