The structural system for this unusual tall tower in Doha adopts a composite concrete and steel solution that allows considerable flexibility and versatility in construction, leading to cost and programme savings.  The main steel floor beams span 25m and are encased within the concrete supporting structures on each side, achieving large column-free spaces. This structural system accommodates construction tolerances easily and enabled an average floor cycle time of five days to be achieved.  

Judge's comment:

The judges were impressed by the scale of this project undertaken by a small practice. The simple structural system proved to be easy to construct and achieved significant savings in the duration and cost of construction.
