The arena has a capacity of 19,000 and will host more than 200 sporting and cultural events annually. The dominant feature of the arena is the low maintenance Corten weathering steel lattice that wraps around the structure and the entrance canopy which cantilevers 85ft over the plaza.  The distinctive arched roof spans more than 380 ft and is supported by a pair of 350 foot tied arch trusses spanning the long direction of the arena.

Judge's comment:

The arena combines visual interest with structural efficiency, evident particularly in the complex roof truss design. Above all, it is an exemplar project for the effective use of BIM and it is hard to conceive how the complex geometry could have been delivered on time and on budget without it.
