Written Discussion on Construction of the Rossens Dam over the River Sarine, Switzerland

Mr. A. C. R. ALBERY (Associate-Member) writes: Any engineer connected with the design or construction of hydroelectric works will be very grateful to M. Koechlin for his very detailed and magnificently illustrated paper on the Rossens Dam. The construction of the dam, for which the Author was responsible, appeared to be a perfect example of careful planning and efficient organisation. Method and orderliness were apparent in every photograph. However, it is mainly in connection with the design of the dam that I would like to raise a few points, in the hope that M. Koechlin may be prepared to express some opinions.
