Set within the natural topography of Yibin, this digital art centre combines cultural identity with advanced structural design. A curved steel grid shell spans column-free spaces, anchored by a central concrete core and supported by a radial transfer truss. The structure integrates a floating lecture theatre and organically shaped ramps, all while maximising natural ventilation and reducing material use.
A clever organic design that blends architectural expression with structural efficiency. The curved steel grid shell and bamboo grove–inspired façade creates column-free spaces, an organically formed ramp, and a floating lecture theatre, all naturally ventilated to reduce energy use. With careful integration of façade and structure, seismic-resilient detailing, and advanced digital design, the project demonstrates how complex forms can deliver high-performance public architecture with reduced material and energy demand.
