The Structural Engineer, Volume 21, Issue 9, 1943
The necessity of saving steel in war-time lends special interest to methods of increasing the strength of mild steel to reinforce concrete. I propose to discuss here the properties and use of a material, obtained from mild steel by a method known as the work hardening process. This is now receiving special attention since British Standard Specifications are being prepared for steel treated in this way. Dr. K. Hajnal-Konyi
This month's letters include discussion over design checks and suitably experienced engineers as well as seismic design of masonry and more.
The tragedy of the Francis Scott Key Bridge highlights the need for structural engineers to ensure that the risks inherent in our built infrastructure remain acceptable, argues Colin Caprani.
