Design and Development of the Concorde Structure

This paper deals very broadly with aspects of structural design of the Concorde aircraft rather than dealing in depth with specific details. It opens with consideration of operational conditions peculiar to a supersonic transport aircraft and in particular the influence of sustained periods at elevated temperatures on the choice of material and structural forms. A description is then given of the form and method of manufacture of the primary structure of the aircraft.
