Speakers

Dave Allan is a Professor at the New Model Institute for Technology & Engineering (NMITE) and sits on the Engineering Professors Council.

Ted McKenna worked for over 11 years with a number of engineering consultants as lead structural design engineer within multi-disciplinary teams and as project manager in the execution of public and private sector projects. Ted took up his academic post as lecturer at CIT in 2010. His interest is in Building Information Modelling (BIM), its impact on the industry, and its impact on the discipline of Structural Engineering. In close consultation with multidisciplinary industry partners, he develops CPD courses to address current industry shortcomings in the area. In 2015, he became programme coordinator for the first such BIM course delivered in CIT. He is also keenly interested in how BIM methodologies and technologies are integrated within undergraduate and post graduate education programmes.
