This on-demand forum will address the trends, technologies and challenges shaping the future of structural engineering practice.

The inaugural Structural Futures forum brought together industry leaders to explore the key trends and challenges shaping the structural engineering profession over the next 5 to 10 years.

The discussion covered a range of important topics, including the actions required to tackle the climate emergency, how evolving technologies may impact structural safety and professional competence, and why productivity in engineering design must increase.

The event also introduced the IStructE’s forthcoming research, development and innovation agenda, outlining how the Institution will support members to access research funding, translate research into practice and accelerate innovation across the industry.

The forum explored how the Institution can anticipate and respond to disruptive trends, helping to create a more productive, rewarding and equitable profession for the future.

Reasons to watch

  • Hear from industry leaders about the technological trends and design and research challenges facing the profession.
