This course helps designers and engineers influence projects towards lower-carbon outcomes.

Through practical tools for briefing, concept development and persuasion, attendees will learn how to work with clients and design teams to identify opportunities, navigate constraints and achieve more ambitious net-zero outcomes.

Will is an award-winning engineer and environmentalist, and Head of Sustainable Materials for the Useful Simple Trust: a group of pioneering designers and consultants striving to regenerate our built and natural environment. He is well-known for his work on embodied carbon policy in the UK, including on Part Z and the UK Net Zero Carbon Buildings Standard. Will is also a Visiting Professor at the University of Bath where he teaches and researches regenerative design.

Oliver is an Honorary Fellow of the IStructE, recognised for his inspiring work on regenerative design, contributing towards the Institution’s goal of making the world a safer and more sustainable place. He is the founder and director of Constructivist, working with leaders, teams, and organisations to enhance their skills in design, creativity, and regenerative thinking. Oliver has also been an 1851 Fellow in Regenerative Design and was awarded the Sir Misha Black Award for Innovation in Design Education in 2020.
