This course provides an introduction to resilient leadership and the core competencies and strategies for navigating the complexities and challenges of modern work life.

The world faces unprecedented levels of uncertainty, change and challenge with most professionals ill-equipped to thrive in this environment. Resilience and leadership were identified by the WorldEconomic Forum as critical skills for 2030, but these are not routinely taught or exercised.

Tailored specifically for engineers and delivered by resilience consultants with a background in engineering, this course will help you manage your own resilience as well as the resilience of your projects and organisation.

Full course dates:

Introduction session: 2 February, 10:30 – 12:00  GMT
Course: 23 – 24 February, 09:30 – 17:30 GMT
Post-course follow-up session: 17 March, 11:00 – 12:00 GMT

Learning outcomes:

By the end of the course, you will:

  • Have access to the Resilient Leaders Development Platform with support to measure their baseline resilient leadership behaviours with quantitative outputs, while also obtaining feedback on their leadership behaviours. 

  • Gain knowledge and experience of the Resilient Leaders ElementsTM and how it is structured around 4 facets and how to apply these: Clarity of Direction, Awareness, Leadership Presence, Resilient Decision Making.  

  • Develop strategies tailored to their own leadership strengths and work on challenges for growth in development areas.  

  • Have an accountability call approximately 1 month later will aid embedment of new resilient leadership behaviours to support the participants on their growth journeys.

Professor Caroline Field 
Caroline is a Chartered Civil Engineer who has been the industry for 30 years. She currently who leads National Resilience at PA Consulting; helping clients develop and deliver resilience strategies whilst providing a framework for measuring the benefits. She is a resilient leaders consultant and coach.

Wendy Tipper 

Wendy is a strategic leader with vast cross-sector experience, partnering with organisations to build capability. She specialises in resilient leadership development, organisational change, and transformation programmes, drawing on deep expertise in the built environment.
