Being part of the London Young Members Group is a great opportunity to meet other students and young professionals, contribute to your Initial and Continuing Professional Development, and become an active member of the Institution.
Engaging with universities and engineering students
We want to engage with the student community, and we are available to conduct talks and workshops on topics like working life, Chartered Membership of IStructE, our activities and more.
We are also constantly looking for student representatives from universities in the area to join our committee and participate in events.
Engaging with schools
We can arrange school visits by structural engineers to give careers talks and introduce the profession and its amazing work in more detail, and discuss how to become a structural engineer.
Many of our members are STEM Ambassadors and are happy to engage with school kids.
