Mr. W. MUIRHEAD, M.1nst.C.E. (Member), proposing a vote of thanks to Mr. Wallis for his paper, said he had indicated the direction in which we must go in connection with the facing of concrete. The possibilities were unlimited, and the thanks of the Institution were due to Mr. Wallis for having given the members the benefit of his experience.

ALTHOUGH there have been a number of papers read within the past few years before
Professional Societies on the artistic treatment of concrete, I make no apology for
contributing yet another, since it is a subject regarding which we are daily gaining more and more knowledge through practical experience.
