MAJOR JAMES PETRIE, O.B.E., owing to the amalgamation of the Southern Railway, retired from the position of District Engineer, Northern Division, LB. & S.C. Railway, on the 30th September last. He held the position of Building, Gas & Water Superintendent for seven years, District Engineer Southern Division eight years, and District Engineer Northern Division, 12 years and 9 months.
