THE mutual benefit resulting from the closer co-operation between the engineer (structural, civil, or otherwise) and the geologist requires no emphasis. Even the more academic interests of the the elucidation of specific engineering problems. Nevertheless the points of view of the two specialists are rather different and neither obtains maximum advantage from the association without h11 appreciation of the other’s interests.
