The Structural Engineer

As the title of this paper suggests the author is to deal with the future of welding as applied to seuctural engineering, and it is his intention to confine the paper to the broad principles upon which the future of welding will develop in regard to this class of work. In order, however, to obtain a grasp of the potentialities of welding it is necessary for one to be fully conversant with the progress which has been, made up to the present time. It has been the experience of the author to find that there is still a large number of engineers who know very little regarding the applications of the welding process both to design and construction.
