Vote of Thanks The PRESIDENT claimed the privilege of proposing a vote of thanks to the authors for their intriguing and illuminating paper. It was of great interest to the Institution in that it dealt with an important application of structural steelwork, and the authors were to be congratulated upon having extracted so much useful information from the tests so ably described. On behalf of the Institution he thanked them sincerely for having prepared the paper and for coming forward to present it.
It is with a very full sense of responsibility and appreciation of the importance of the occasion that I rise to address you this evening. J.E. Swindlehurst
