The CHAIRMAN welcomed the members of the Reinforced Concrete Association and their President, Mr. M. Cowlishaw, and then introduced Colonel A. R. Mais, O.B.E. , T.D., and Mr. A. C. Little, who presented their Paper.
The CHAIRMAN introduced Mr. Lee, who then gave a brief summary of the paper and showed illustrations of the tests of beams at Port Tampa for the Tampa Bay Bridge in Florida, (Fig. 31), a test of a beam for the Leyton-Marshes Culvert, which was made by the Cement and Concrete Association (Fig. 32), the first prestressed concrete overline railway bridge in Eire (Fig. 33), and some views of the 160 ft. span prestressed concrete railway bridge at Rotherham.
