THE Chairman, introducing the lecturer, said as Constructional Engineer to the Northern Gas Board, whose territory extended from the North Riding of Yorkshire up to the Border and right across from the North Sea to the Irish Sea, Mr. Garrett had plenty of gas works on his hands, for the constructional work in which he was responsible.
THE PRESIDEST, introducing Mr. G. M. Boyd, said he was able to speak with considerable experience on brittle fracture problems in steel construction, a subject which had been with us for a long time and which had become of very considerable importance within recent years.
