In Part I of this series we have discussed thelateral stability of tall single bay frames. General formulae relating to the sway of members when stability effects are important were given and these will be used again herein. A meeting of the Institution of Structural Engineers was held at 11, Upper Belgrave Street, London, S.W.l, on Thursday, 24th November, 1955, the President, Mr. Stanley Vaughan, B.Sc.(Eng.), M.I.C.E., in the Chair.
THE Chairman conveyed to the meeting the apologies of Mr. Stanley Vaughan, (President), and Major R. F. Maitland, (Secretary), who were attending another function in the interests of the Institution.
