Somerville (Cement and Concrete Association): ' On page 340 of his paper, Mr. Mills refers briefly to tests that were carried out by the C & CA on behalf of the Ministry of Public Building and works on the joint detail of Fig 5 the simple dowel column-column connection. I would like to give a brief outline of this test programme (more than 50 specimens have been tested to date) and of the most significant results so far. '
