The Structural Engineer, Volume 52, Issue 1, 1974
An investigation is made of the feasibility of using a top connecting beam to stiffen a pair of coupled shear walls supported on elastic foundations. By basing the analysis on the continuous connection technique a closed solution to the problem is achieved. A numerical example illustrates the increase of structural efficiency which may be achieved for a pair of coupled shear walls situated on deformable foundations. A. Coull
