This foreword briefly summarises the commitments that engineers have made in declaring a climate emergency and considers first steps to build action plans that will support these commitments.
On 23 February 2018, The Institution of Structural Engineers held a Council workshop at HQ in London devoted to the future of the structural engineering profession. The workshop was organised and delivered by Arup’s Foresight team in collaboration with the Institution. This report summarises the workshop, giving an overview of the key topics of discussions, findings and priorities.
