If you’re professionally qualified in Singapore or the United States you can become a Chartered Member by sitting a supplementary exam.

What’s involved?

We have carefully mapped our exam requirements against those of recognised bodies to determine if the same learning outcomes and competencies are demonstrated. Any difference in exam content is addressed through a supplementary exam.

Supplementary exams are a stringent test of your competence and experience. You can only apply if:

 - You are fully registered with the Professional Engineers Board of Singapore (PEB) and have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Examination (FEE) and the Practice of Professional Engineering Examination (PPE) in the Civil discipline, plus the interview.

 - You hold a Structural Engineering (SE) license in the United States and have passed both the Professional Exam (PE) and additional Structural Engineering (SE) Exams.

Exam format:

The supplementary exam addresses conceptual design aspects covered by our Chartered Membership exam.

The exam is 90 minutes long and assesses your conceptual design skills. This is followed by a 60 minute interview.
