The Young Members Group (YMG) of the IStructE UAE Regional Group recently carried out a series of visits to four leading universities: Manipal University Dubai, University of Bolton RAK, Heriot-Watt University Dubai, and BITS Pilani Dubai.
These engagements led by Huda Sharif (Chair-YMG UAE), Jainey Erum (Vice-Chair-YMG UAE) and Basil Ismail (Secretary-UAE RG) introduced students to the fundamentals of structural engineering while showcasing the benefits and global value of IStructE membership. To make the sessions interactive, the YMG facilitated hands-on activities using Mola structural kits, enabling students to visualise key engineering concepts and experiment with real-world structural behaviour in an engaging way.
