The UK government has recently launched a Cyber Governance Code of Practice, urging all businesses - including those in structural engineering - to treat cyber risk with the same importance as financial or legal risks.

The Code stresses that cyber resilience is a board-level responsibility, requiring directors and senior leaders to take clear ownership. With cyber-attacks causing significant disruption and many organisations lacking vulnerability audits or incident plans, this voluntary Code outlines essential actions around risk management, cyber strategy, staff training, incident response, and governance oversight. While not yet mandatory, adoption is expected to grow and could influence future regulation.

Our strategic partner, Mitigo, explores the Code in more detail.
Find out how your firm can align with this new approach to safeguard your business from evolving cyber threats.
