The 2020 inaugural meeting and dinner of the South East Counties Regional Group was held at the Jurys Inn on Tuesday 18 February 2020.

The event saw Institution President, Don McQuillan, congratulate last year’s Chair Toby Robinson for his excellent work and install Eric Li as the Chair for 2020.

The President and Darren Byrne (Deputy Chief Executive) addressed the guests on Institution matters, outlining the main initiatives and recent developments.

Member prizes

The meeting also afforded the opportunity to award the student prize to Waleed Alsaadi from the University of Brighton for his outstanding performance in the area of structural engineering and achieving highest grade in the MEng individual project.

Student prizes were also awarded to Ben Edwards from the University of Greenwich and Niya Borissova from London South Bank University, who were not present at the event.

Eric Li, the incoming chair, and local engineer Allan Dunsmore were also presented with certificates of Fellowship.
