Trustee and Council election results announced by IStructE

As part of its governance process, the Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE) announces the results of recent elections for important roles integral to its global structure.

John Price is elected Vice President for India, Middle East & Africa. John is the Design & Construction Director at Meinhardt (UAE).
 
Kate Wise and Colin Caprani are elected as Trustee Board Members for a three-year term:
  • Kate is the founder of Static Dynamic, an engineering business, with an aim to engineer for a more sustainable future.
  • Colin is an Associate Professor at Monash University; the current Chair and Director of Collaborative Reporting for Safer Structures – Australia (CROSS-AUS); and Chair of the Australia Regional Group for IStructE.
Robert McKittrick, Saprava Bhattacharya, and Ankush Sinha are elected to join as Ordinary Members of the Council:
  • Robert (Bob) holds many voluntary appointments in the UK, including the Chair of UK Anti-Corruption Forum, and Chair of GIACC-UK (Global Infrastructure Anti-Corruption Centre). Bob is a Past President of IStructE, holding the role 2002 - 2003.
  • Saprava is a Technical Director at WSP (Bridges-London and Southeast) and Specialist Steelwork Adviser to National Highways, alongside occasional academic in the UK and overseas.
  • Ankush is the Lead Structural Consultant at the global engineering consultant Worley where he leads the advanced structural analysis team.
Commenting on the election results, Yasmin Becker, Chief Executive of IStructE, says: “We are pleased to welcome our newly elected Board Trustees and Council members who play a key role in shaping the Institution’s strategic direction.
 
“They bring with them extensive expertise and knowledge which will benefit our members worldwide. I look forward to working with them and together achieve our purpose of advancing the art and science of structural engineering.”
