This lecture looked at the process and programme of development for the next Revision to EN1992-1-1. It described the main changes that can be expected in the current design provisions and will shed light on the new design information contained within Annexes to the new code. This includes rules on assessment of concrete structures, design of fibre reinforced concrete and the use of steel fibre reinforced polymers.

Craig Giaccio is a Structural Engineer with over 25 years of experience in encompassing research, design, and assessment, and rehabilitation of existing structures. He is the UK representative to the Technical Working Group for the CEN committee on structural concrete.
Tony Jones is a Structural Engineer with over 30 years of experience in design, research and investigation of Concrete Structures. He is currently the UK Head of Delegation to the CEN committee on structural concrete which is overseeing the development of the new code. Tony provides structural design guidance to the UK concrete industry.
Andy Truby is a Chartered Engineer with over 37 years’ experience of structural engineering design. Andy is one of the two founding Directors of TrubyStevenson Ltd. Andy has previously held senior positions as Head of Structural Engineering at both Gifford LLP and Ramboll UK Ltd. Andy has a broad experience of delivery in projects across a range of sectors and procurement routes. He has a particular interest and expertise in the design of concrete structures particularly those adopting post-tensioning.
