Structural engineers are uniquely placed to facilitate the reuse of existing structures and infrastructure as well as the individual structural materials and elements.
The Reusing existing structures hybrid conference provided structural engineers with a forum to share the latest practical tools and guidance for adaptive reuse, refurbishment, and retrofit projects. Supporting the transformation of more existing structures and maximising the life span of existing structural materials.
Alan Pegum, a returning attendee and speaker at this year’s conference, shared his thoughts:
“The IStructE Reusing existing structures Conference has become one of the highlights of my training calendar. Having the opportunity to hear from, and network with, other likeminded enthusiasts from other companies and organisations has been both thought provoking and a source of inspiration. For these reasons, I am excited to be speaking at this year’s conference on one of my key interest areas.”
