The Institution of Structural Engineers has upheld standards, shared knowledge and given structural engineering a voice since 1908. The IStructE Structural India Awards extend that mission to India, creating a national platform for excellence and recognition.

Integrity, excellence, collaboration and inclusion shape every rule in this programme — from blind scoring and an independent panel to two categories judged with equal prestige.

Student Academic award:

• Certificate 

• Cash prize (₹10000 for winner and ₹7000 for runner up)

• Engraved plaque for the university

Industry project award:

• Certificate for the author

• Engraved plaque for the company

1. Pre-screening

2.  Written report assessment (40%)
     The judges will assess:

• Innovation and originality

• Technical quality

• Clarity

• Sustainability considerations

• Potential impact

3. Live presentation and Q&A  (60%)
     The judges will assess:

• Communication

• Professionalism

• Real-world relevance

• Learning and insight

• Ability to answer questions

Entry to the awards is free of charge.

No, every entrant must declare that their report was prepared without AI writing tools.

For the Industry project award, projects must have construction completed after 01 July 2023 to be eligible for entry.

Three shortlisted entries from each category will be invited to give a presentation online to judges and again at the awards event.

Four, a winner and commendation will be selected in both categories.

Yes, entrants retain ownership of all intellectual property submitted.

Companies and academic institutions can submit a maximum of two entries.
