The award is open to all structural engineers regardless of the size of projects you have worked on. The judges have chosen criteria that highlight you as an individual and give you the opportunity to talk about all aspects of what drives your passion for being an engineer.
Submit an up-to-date CV (document maximum of 2 A4 pages).
Endorsement: A letter from their employer or professionally registered member of the Institution, detailing your suitability for the award.
Draft an opinion piece (maximum of 500 words) providing your interpretation of “Professionalism” in Structural Engineering.
The piece should outline your personal perspective of the subject matter
Judges will be considering the following elements:
Sound writing with a clear and logical reasoning
Depth of thought for the subject
Conclusions that relate to Structural Engineering
Insightful observations and approaches for the future
Deadline for stage one is 4 March 2022.
If shortlisted after stage 1, you will be required to submit the following:
A poster presentation of the project you are most proud of working on and why.
A 30 minute interview with a selection of judges, consisting of a short times presentation of the poster followed by questions from the judges.
